Nice Weather Returns to NE Arkansas

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

The nice weather has returned to NE Arkansas, warmer temps and yes even the sun is coming out and making the spring weeds grow.

Sit back if you can and enjoy what mother nature has to offer us before she gets into her severe pattern, we all know it will be here soon enough.

Nicer Weather.

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

We have had some nice weather the past few days, well at least with out the rain.  This morning was bitterly cold with the wind at one point it felt like it was only 6 degrees.  Tomorrow is lining up to be a better day with a high of 41 and winds only 5 mph instead of today’s 15 to 20.  I hope everyone enjoys this nice weather after all we are knocking on Severe Weather Season.

Take Care until next time stay safe.

Rain moving in

Sunday, February 21st, 2010

Looks like the rain is going to be moving in over the next few days.  Sunday should be rainy off and on but becoming more steady after noon, so be careful on your drive home from church.  Monday will bring cooler temps as of now.

It is 1:09 AM so I will update this blog entry sometime once the sun comes up.

TC and HAGN all be careful and stay dry!

Snow sticking around

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

The snow is sticking around this year, there are several areas that we still have snow from the first storm over 2 weeks ago.  Sitting here in the office this morning and the weather looks much better outside.  The wind isn’t blowing 20+ mph today.  The forecast is calling for Sunny skies today with highs close to 40 and winds 10 to 15 mph, I can live with that its that 25 degree weather with 25 mph winds that I hate so much.

Well if you have something to do outside today I guess you better get it done it is looking like it might be wet for several days starting Friday.

Have a great day and enjoy what Mother Nature has to offer.

Barking Dogs in College City.

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

Ok I know myself and about 5 other neighbors have had enough of these little barking dogs.  Our lovely neighbors have 2 small “dogs” and a medium one that they let run and bark all hours of the day and night.  Several of us have attended our City meetings but as you can tell we got no where I do believe that our Mayor of College City is worthless and lacks what it takes to be a Mayor.  We have had the sheriffs department out here 6 or 8 times to talk to these people and nothing seems to work.  I have talked to these people also and was told they will take care of it and still nothing has been done.

I challenge Mayor Aaron Andrew or Sheriff Dan Ellison to visit Bluebird Lane in College City and solve this problem, I do feel 3 years with no action is enough.  The City has ordnance’s in place for barking dogs and dogs not on a leash so someone should be able to enforce something and put this issue to rest.

Snow has passed.

Monday, February 15th, 2010

The snow has passed and the weather is down right cold now.  Looking at some numbers we are about 25 degrees below normal.  Ryan Vaughan was talking about the possibility of some more cold weather next week, guess I will wait and see what happens.  Maybe the snow will come back into the forecast.

Snow falling in College City

Monday, February 15th, 2010

The snow is falling in College City for now, it does not look like it will last for long so do run into town and turn the stores in to messes.

Have a great day and enjoy mother natures little show!

Another Winter Storm goes by.

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

We have had another winter storm pass leaving the roads a mess.  This storm was much more photogenic than the others, the snow was wetter and the wind didn’t blow 30 mph, well atleast not until the storm had passed.  We received about 4 and 1/2 inches this time compared to the last storm dumping over 11 inches.  We didn’t have to many mishaps on the road ways but the children did get 2 more snow days, I hate to think how they will have to make up for them this year, and to think winter isn’t over yet.  So watch your local weather man or weather woman and enjoy what mother nature has to offer.

…WINTER STORM EXPECTED THURSDAY NIGHT AND FRIDAY…WITH SIGNIFICANT
ICE AND SNOW ACCUMULATIONS POSSIBLE…

A POWERFUL STORM SYSTEM MOVING ALONG THE GULF COAST WILL BRING
MOISTURE INTO THE MIDSOUTH LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND ON THURSDAY.
AN ARCTIC AIR MASS WILL ALSO DROP SOUTH INTO NORTHERN PORTIONS OF
THE MIDSOUTH THURSDAY EVENING…CHANGING RAIN OVER TO A MIXTURE OF
FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET. THE SHALLOW ARCTIC AIR MASS WILL ADVANCE
SOUTH THURSDAY NIGHT…CHANGING RAIN TO A MIXTURE OF SLEET AND
FREEZING RAIN ACROSS CENTRAL COUNTIES OF THE MIDSOUTH BY FRIDAY
MORNING. AREAS ALONG THE MISSOURI AND KENTUCKY BORDERS WILL LIKELY
SEE A CHANGEOVER TO SNOW BY FRIDAY MORNING. SEVERAL INCHES OF SNOW
WILL BE POSSIBLE OVER NORTHERN PORTIONS OF THE MIDSOUTH. CONFIDENCE
IS HIGH THAT THE NORTHERN HALF OF THE MIDSOUTH WILL SEE SOME
WINTRY PRECIPITATION. HOWEVER CURRENT CONFIDENCE IS MUCH LOWER
OVER SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF THE MIDSOUTH.

THERE STILL REMAINS SOME UNCERTAINTY WITH THE EVOLUTION OF THIS
POTENTIAL WINTER STORM SYSTEM. SMALL DEVIATIONS IN THE SPEED AND
STRENGTH OF THE DEVELOPING SYSTEM WILL DETERMINE THE SOUTHERN
EXTENT OF THE ARCTIC AIR. THESE INFLUENCES WILL GREATLY IMPACT
PRECIPITATION TYPES AND AMOUNTS.

STRONG WINDS WILL ACCOMPANY THE STORM. SHOULD SIGNIFICANT ICE AND
SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OCCUR…THE STRONG WINDS COULD HELP BRING DOWN
TREE LIMBS…WHICH COULD CAUSE POWER OUTAGES.

THE WINTER STORM SHOULD CLEAR THE MIDSOUTH BY THE WEEKEND…WITH
BITTER COLD ARCTIC AIR USHERING IN BEHIND THE DEPARTING STORM
SYSTEM.

PERSONS IN THE MIDSOUTH ARE ENCOURAGED TO PLAN AHEAD FOR THE POTENTIAL
OF SNOW AND ICE ACCUMULATIONS AND POSSIBLE POWER OUTAGES…FOLLOWED
BY MUCH COLDER TEMPERATURES PERSISTING INTO THE WEEKEND.
